Join your fellow YACers and YAC advisors from around the state for the 2024 Youth Grantmakers Summer Leadership Conference! This year's conference will be centered on the theme Orbit: Many Planets, One Solar System.  

Don't miss out on this engaging weekend of empowering lessons, best practices and strategies to deepen your grantmaking skills and connect with youth grantmakers from around the state! The conference is planned and facilitated by the Michigan Community Foundations' Youth Project (MCFYP) Committee.

Youth advisory council members associated with community foundations around Michigan and the U.S. are welcome to attend with their advisors. 

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION


Through the Michigan Community Foundation's Youth Project, the Council of Michigan Foundations will provide registration scholarships based on demonstrated need. Youth Advisory Councils (YACs) can receive up to $250 in support. Priority will be given to community foundations with a lower overall asset size and/or smaller YAC operating budget and YACs who have not been able to attend the conference in recent years.

The deadline to complete the application is May 17th. The individual who completed the application will be contacted with the decision by May 24th. This year, funds will be provided directly to the community foundation via check or ACH payment.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

CMF continues to prioritize the well-being of members, staff, partners and communities. As of August 14, 2023 the following measures are our in-person event health and safety procedures:

  • We recommend attendees test for COVID-19 within 48 hours prior to this gathering.
  • Any attendee who is feeling unwell, who has tested positive for an illness in the 10 days prior to the event or who is showing symptoms and awaiting test results is asked not to attend.
  • If you are not able to attend due to illness, please contact Jen Ruud at jruud@michiganfoundations.org.
  • All attendees will be invited to wear one of three color-coded lanyards to indicate to other attendees their personal comfort with in-person interaction: red (greet from six feet), yellow (elbows only), green (high-fives permitted).
